Summary Screen
Shows a summary of the basic information pertaining to a proposal and its award.

Type: Either New Proposal, Continuation, Letter of Intent, or Resubmission.

Status: Current status of the proposal. Either Pending, Awarded, Rejected, Withdrawn or Closed. (Note: The file is closed when the end date has passed.)

Institution Number: This number is automatically generated and assigned to a proposal. The first four digits are the year the grant was first pending and the last four digits are the order in which it came through the office.

Account No.: FRS account number, when available.

Submitted Date: The date the proposal arrives in ORSP and is logged in.

Processed Date: Also the date the proposal arrives in ORSP and is logged in.

Logged Out Date: The field is filled in after Len Paplauskas provides the final signature on the proposal. When this date is entered, the proposal should be ready for pick up.

Deadline: The sponsor’s due date.

Project Title: Title of the proposal.

Short Title: Not used.

Nature of Project: This describes the nature of the funding that the proposal requests. The choices are: Clinical Trial, CME, Construction, Equipment, Fellowship, Instructional, Other, Public Service, Research, or Training.

Investigator: The primary investigator and all Co-PI’s are listed here.

Post Award:

Awarded Number: The unique identification number assigned to a proposal by the sponsor after it has been either received or awarded.

Application Rejected and Date: Checked if the sponsor rejected the proposal.

Application Withdrawn and Date: Checked if the Principal Investigator withdrew the proposal.

Award Refusal and Date: Checked if the Principal Investigator refused the award.

Transferred From UCHC and Date: Checked if the proposal was brought to another institution by the Principal Investigator.

Transferred To UCHC and Date: Checked if the proposal was brought to the Health Center by a new Principal Investigator.

Application Resubmitted and Date: Checked if the Principal Investigator resubmitted the proposal.

Associated Department: Shows the department of the Principal Investigator.

College: Assigns the college to the department of the Principal Investigator. Is either Administrative, Dental or Medical.

Sponsor Information: The sponsor to which the Principal Investigator is submitting the proposal.

Major Goals of the Project: Not currently used.

Documents: Not currently used.

Notice of Grant Awards: ORSP uploads the electronic notice of award that is sent by NIH. Anyone can view and print the entire award document by clicking on view.

Private Clinical Trial Title: Some pharmaceutical companies do not wish to release the full name of a clinical trial. In these cases, the protocol number is listed in the project title field at the top of the screen and this is where the rest of the title is saved.

Budget Information:

Requested: This tab shows the direct, indirect, and total costs requested on the originally submitted proposal for the first project year and also the cumulative totals for all project years. Cost sharing is also indicated. (see Requested Page for further detail).

Awarded: This tab shows the direct, indirect, and totals costs awarded by the sponsor for the first project year and a cumulative total for all project years. Cost sharing is also indicated. (see Awarded Page for further detail).

Campus: Not currently used.

Conflict of Interest: Not currently used.

Recovery: Not currently used.

Cost Share Type: Not currently used.

Mandatory Yes/No Questions:

Recombinant DNA/Biohazards: Checked if either are used on the protocol.

Cost Share and Amount: Checked and filled out if the Principal Investigator plans to have UConn match a portion of the budgetary costs or if the Principal Investigator’s salary exceeds the cap.

Electronic Submission and Date: Checked if the proposal was submitted electronically to the sponsor.

Comments: Provides additional information regarding the protocol such as fellow’s mentor. Entered by ORSP.
