 The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) is responsible for the following activities at the UConn Health Center:
  • Review and approval of all proposals seeking extramural support.
  • Assists with the transfer of grants and non-fiscal close outs for departing or incoming faculty.
  • Negotiation of the terms and conditions of all research grants.
  • Negotiation of the terms and conditions of all basic research contracts.
  • Review and acceptance of grant/contract awards.
  • Set up of fiscal packages for grant awards.
  • All non-fiscal post-award administration, e.g., no cost extension, Institutional Prior Approval System (IPAS) approval transactions.
  • Extramural funding information resource.
  • Negotiation of all in-coming material transfer agreements (MTA), and negotiation of all out-going MTAs except for those involving industrial recipients.
  • Coordination of electronic proposal submission to research sponsors.
  • Advising the Associate Vice President for Research Administration on policies affecting the conduct of extramurally sponsored research.
